Africa Tourism Forum: Egypt by Carthage Group

Africa Tourism Forum, an international event for tourism industry professionals, was held in Sharm El Sheikh from May 20 to 22. What kind of vacation in Egypt can we arrange for tourists from different countries? Which hotels and excursions does Carthage Group offer travelers? These and many other topics were discussed during business and no-tie meetings at the Africa Tourism Forum.

The First Day of the Forum: Friendly Greetings

On the first day of the forum, a plenary session was held, the speakers of which were the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Ahmed Issa and other high-ranking officials. Representatives of tour operators and travel agencies, DMCs, hotels and hotel chains, as well as mass media, covering travel topics, attended the meeting.

The event was held at the Sharm El Sheikh International Convention Center (SHICC). The organizers of the Forum have placed a strong emphasis on the business program. The event was designed to highlight the advantages of tourism in African countries and provide a comprehensive platform for tourism industry professionals from around the world to exchange experiences.

Alla Filimonova, the General Representative of Carthage Group in Europe and a recognized expert in tourism, noted the high level of activity among the event’s attendees. On the first day of the Forum, our team members exchanged friendly greetings with many colleagues during preliminary B2B meetings, which included the participation of Sameh Salem, a top manager at Tourcloud, one of Carthage Group’s divisions.

The Second Day: The Presentation of Old Egypt Travel

On the second day of the Africa Tourism Forum there was a very active and fruitful communication with visitors and other participants at Carthage Group’s booth. Our team answered questions about the activities of Old Egypt Travel, the structural division of Carthage Group in Egypt. Representatives of Egyptian branches of our group of companies shared their successful personal experiences of handling large and, let’s be honest, complex groups of travelers.

The hall, where a plenary session for 1,500 people was held on the first day of the Africa Tourism Forum, was turned into a workshop area. Visitors started gathering early, and our colleagues in the travel industry came to Carthage Group’s booth early in the morning. The first hour of the event turned out to be truly spectacular for our team members. There was a non-stop series of a kind of mini-seminars, attracting specialists from Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and other countries.

The Third Day: Active Work Continues

The third day of the international tourism forum in Sharm El Sheikh was marked not only by the grand closing of this large-scale event for the Carthage Group team members but also with important business meetings. Over the course of the two official working days of the Africa Tourism Forum, our colleagues held productive one-on-one meetings with tourism industry professionals who gathered in Egypt to strengthen and establish business and friendly relationships.

For the closing ceremony, participants and guests of the forum were invited to a stylishly decorated venue with vibrant and delicious cocktails. The formal part took place by the sea and, in addition to videos on the screen, was accompanied by a real sunset, adding a special beauty to the event.

Then the organizers of the Africa Tourism Forum offered attendees the opportunity to take a tour of Sharm El Sheikh. However, following their own agenda, our colleagues embarked on their own tour of the famous city. Employees from the Egyptian offices of Carthage Group’s divisions were delighted to introduce the local attractions to team members from our group of companies who had come from other countries for the event. In conclusion, we would like to point out that although Carthage Group is usually associated with Tunisia, Egypt became the main topic of our participation in the Africa Tourism Forum. Our team was very glad to tell the guests of the event about our achievements and plans on this popular tourist destination. We believe that such professional communication is extremely fruitful and interesting for all its participants.
