Every year, since 2002, in Tanzania, at the foot of the highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro, a large-scale international sport event called KiliMarathon has been being held.

What about going to Zanzibar and recover your travel costs? It’s not an advertising headline. If you think big, you can recover your travel costs at least in terms of huge emotional rewards!

The date of the upcoming race in 2021 is February 28, Sunday. Terms and conditions of participation for foreign runners:

► Marathon (42.2 km)

• The competition is open to anyone aged 20 or over
• The entry fee is $80-90 depending on the payment date
• The first 650 finishers will be awarded medals
• 1^st place prize money payment is 4,100,000 Tanzanian shillings (equivalent to $1,800)

► Half Marathon (21.1 km)

• The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over
• The entry fee is $80-90 depending on the payment date
• The first 5500 finishers will be awarded medals
• 1^st place prize money payment is 2,100,000 Tanzanian shillings (equivalent to $900)

► Fun Run (5 km)

• The competition is open to anyone aged 10 or over
• The entry fee is $5
• Children under 18 must run, accompanied by an adult
• Unfortunately, there are no prizes and medals

Organizers and observers from the Association of International Marathons (AIMS) promise full compliance with the Tanzanian COVID Protocol.
