On Saturday, February 6, 2021 a famous French DJ David Guetta puts on a charitable performance on the helipad of the Burj Al Arab 5* in Dubai, which is one of the most well-known hotels in the world.
During his career, David Guetta has been named the world’s number one DJ according to DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs poll twice: in 2011 and 2020. He has 6 studio albums and numerous music awards, including two Grammies. He has collaborated with world-famous pop stars such as Akon, Britney Spears, Madonna, Fergie, Shakira and many others.
The entire event will be available online to enjoy, free of charge. Fans can watch the performance at 6 pm local time on David Guetta’s YouTube.
Speaking about his unique charity performance, David Guetta said that he dedicated his new superb performance to Dubai, the city which he called home. The DJ also noted that the event would be a show of solidarity, hope and optimism, as the world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. The charity concert is aimed at supporting UNICEF and Dubai Cares’ campaign ‘Education Uninterrupted’, an initiative targeted at education and distance learning for children, students and teachers in the aftermath of Covid-19.
One of the most important current tasks of Dubai Cares is to support children and youth from low-income families who cannot afford to purchase a desktop computer, laptop or tablet, so that they can join their peers in distance learning from the safety of their home.
David Guetta commented: «So far, we have raised more than 1.6 million US Dollars and counting, thanks to my fans across the globe. In those difficult times, we hope to bring comfort, joy, and support through the power of music and emotions. We have supported many charities and helped make a real difference in people’s lives during the pandemic. We continue in this direction today, benefiting UNICEF and Dubai Cares.»
